Refurbishment of 2no. arches in Vauxhall, for Network Rail
Robinson Kenning & Gallagher were employed by Network Rail to produce a Tender and Construction drawing package for two arches in Vauxhall, London. The dual aspect arches (68 & 69 Goding Street) are a short walk from Vauxhall Interchange and Albert Embankment, in a rapidly improving area. RKG also acted as the Contract Administrator and CDM co-ordinator for the project. The Contractor was Osborne Ltd.
The project comprised the complete refurbishment of both arches (previously a nightclub) and shell spec fit-out through RIBA stages 1 to 7. The arches were sandblasted and lined where necessary so a part exposed brickwork finish could be achieved. The arch fronts were fitted with bi-fold doors on both sides and highlighted with LED feature lighting. The multi-disciplinary team consisted of: Architects, Surveyors, Principal Designers, Contract Administrators & QS Cost Control, Structural & M&E Engineers.
