1 - 24 Almond Road, Regeneration of complete Industrial Estate for Network Rail
Robinson Kenning & Gallagher were first appointed by Network Rail to undertake a refurbishment project of 24no. Railway arches in Bermondsey, South London. The contractor was First Call Building Services for this GRIP 1 to 8 project. Proposed arch uses were storage and the continued use as dictated by the existing tenant.
The project scope included undertaking varying levels of refurbishment/fit outs of existing arch premises at 1 to 24 Almond Road. Although works varied arch to arch many of the arches had new front infill works, new floors, new services and arch lining works. Much of the project complexity involved managing the various requirements of each arch, and working around the few arches remaining occupied through-out the works.
To simplfy the construction phase works were spilt into two phases. Phase 1 – Arches 1 to 12 and Phase 2 – Arches 13 to 24. Works to the access road at the front of the arches was completed at the end of the 26 week construction programme.
