Redevelopment of Land at the Rear of the Fisherman’s Arms Pub, West Croydon for Webb Estate Management
Robinson Kenning & Gallagher recently achieved Planning Approval for a residential scheme of 9no. one and two-bedroom units on a challenging urban site in West Croydon. RKG was engaged by Webb Estate Management to explore the residential potential of a small parcel of land at the rear of ‘The Fisherman’s Arms’ public house into much needed residential accommodation for the Croydon/ Selhurst community.
The innovative courtyard scheme includes amenities such as cycle storage, balconies and shared communal garden space in addition to sustainable features such as stormwater cells and photovoltaic panels. The site restrictions galvanized the design process and inspired an exciting red brick building that utilised many features (large windows, open balconies with opaque screens, internal courtyard/amenity) to maximum effect.
